Sickness has hit us hard again...Matthew got over his strep throat from 4 weeks ago, only to come down with one whale of a cold last week. Lots of coughing, stuffy nose, etc. The humidifier has been running constantly in someone's room for at least a week. Kara has come down with the same symptoms...poor thing didn't eat well over the weekend. Then, I (Chris) became sick on Monday...by Wednesday I couldn't eat or drink or get rid of the fever I'd had for 2 days. Diagnosed with strep yesterday. The doctor put me on antibiotics and a really strong pain reliever (to help me sleep...I hadn't slept in 2 days either). I'm still in pain, but I was finally able to eat something last night. Sounds like strep, influenza, and RSV is what is going around like crazy...and it's not just here in Kansas, it's everywhere. Eric and Allison have escaped so far and I'm trying to keep it that way. I've run out of Lysol (I'm spraying EVERYTHING)! I seem to be falling apart (fell on ice right before the Superbowl and jammed my left wrist; popped some adhesions from an old injury in my ankle Saturday morning).

Attended Aunt Harriet's memorial service in Manhattan on Monday. It was small, quiet, and very nice. Was able to reconnect with some cousin's we hadn't seen in awhile. It was a good trip considering the circumstances.

Matthew's basketball team ended their losing season on a high note by winning their last 2 games on the same day this past Saturday. He came home shocked and excited by the wins! I asked him if he was happy the season was over and he gave an emphatic NO! So, looks like he will do this again next year!

Well, nothing much else to report. Looking forward to all of our sickness to go away so we can go visiting as a family again (we are beginning to miss so much..here in Dodge and in Great Bend). But, for now, we are hunkering down with our fluffy blankets and our Tylenol.

    Have a great week!

Kelly:  I understand how you feel...Ky has a nasty cold as well, and Kara is trying hard to get over an ear infection. Chicken pox has hit where I work, I just pray that my 2 kids don't get it! Stay well, miss you, Kelly
