Things are finally winding down here. Today, we were able to tour Matthew's new school. It's very old with no air conditioning so that answered our questions about the half-day school days that begin the new school year. I am so thankful that I am no longer working out of the home. That schedule could be a nightmare!

It seems that summer has finally caught up with the calendar. High 90s, no more rain in the near future (which is really a good thing in some places); perfect swimming weather. The Haselhorst water park is in full swing (a small pool under the swing set, PVC pipe forming a water shower from the top...nothing like homemade, right?).

I am working from home and loving it. I am able to keep tabs on accounts at work and can work all my claims from home. I will go back to GB every couple of weeks to do some in office paperwork, but other than that, I am now my own boss!! Woo!Hoo! Eric is doing well for the diocese. Getting ready for a big stewardship day coming up and preparing for all the meetings he will have to travel to once summer is over and committees are meeting again. We are very proud of him and are happy that he has found something that is fulfilling.

I was able to go to the National Pastoral Musicians conference last week in Indianapolis, IN. It was OUTSTANDING!!! Never in my life have I sung with 3300 voices at Mass...I was moved to tears. I can't describe it adequately, I know...let's just say I won't be missing the next national conference. Makes me want to record another album (although this time, do it right!)!

Was able to celebrate my birthday and Grandpa Dave's birthday on Saturday (14th). It was a great time and my dad and I had never celebrated together before...there was an overabundance of heat coming from the candles off that cake! Geesch! Anyway, was also able to visit Grandma Belle, Grandma Nancy, and Grandpa Dennis...short visits but worth it. We were supposed to go to Kansas City on Sunday but were so tired and not feeling well so we had to cancel. Good thing, too. Took forever to get home and the kids were wiped out. I am hoping to visit those folks within the next couple of weeks...left a message to that effect and hope that we can get together!

We are glad to finally be home, however, and are looking forward to STAYING home for awhile. I came home with some EXCELLENT music from the conference that I am having to chase Eric down at times so I can listen to it! Ha! But, that's what music is for isn't it? To share it!!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer!!
