Spring is here and in full swing! We have prepared the garden for another growing season, with potatoes already in the ground and loving the rain we are getting....water for free! Am planning what we are going to plant around the house (flowers-wise) and have the vegetable garden all mapped out. Should be a busy spring once it warms up more.
Matthew is finally over whatever it was that was making him so sick. Never did find out what he had, but we are happy that he is back to normal. Soccer went well (when he wasn't ill) and he learned more...i.e.: you can kick a ball better when you are on your feet instead of your knees or back. He is looking forward to baseball this summer, having already taken some of his spending money and a gift card he got for his birthday and buying a new bat and some new baseballs. Looks like mom needs to look for some cleats.
Kara's vocabulary has exploded this month...."cookie, puppy, hi, hello, bye-bye, Daddy, Mom, Allie, stinky, baby, kitty, please (EEEEEEEZE!), thank you (um-mum), shoe"...those are the ones I can remember right now. She's following all sorts of directions and is now climbing on anything she can. The warmer weather has made her hard to keep indoors.
Allie hasn't changed much since last writing...just busy playing, pretending, reading, drawing, and going to school.
We bought a newer van....looks just like the white one only it's longer, has a 4th door, and is maroon. We kept the white one so Eric has something to drive with better gas mileage. Hopefully, the truck will be sold soon. It's really on it's last leg. Eric has toyed with the idea of keeping it, however, in order to have something to do yard work, etc. with.
The half bath off the kitchen is finished. Just need to put the new door on. Looks nice with a new toilet, fixtures, floor, walls, and sink. It's a whole new room. The kitchen has some odds and ends left (painting of trim and threshold installation), but we are pleased with the end product.
I have started a 2nd job for an occupational therapist in the same building as the surgeon I work for. It's really flexible (I go in when I want to). Basically, I'm helping this guy get his business off the ground by streamlining his insurance billing and accounts receivable. Have already fixed a ton of problems so he can get some better money coming in. So far, he is pleased.
We've been extremely busy....work, life, house, etc. More than can be written here right now. I'll update more later when there is more time. If I don't write before then...have a great and Blessed Easter!Comments:Add a comment:

Well, Matthew is continuing to suffer from on and off abdominal pain and last week, he was out of school for 2 days while we tried to figure out why he was having fevers of 105 on Sunday and Monday. Ugh. No answers. The old advice: plenty of fluids and rest...wish we knew what was going on. Otherwise, when he does feel well, he's been attending soccer on Tuesdays and Thursdays and is improving every time! Also, he is preparing for his first communion (April 15th for those who want to attend). It is a pretty exciting time for Matthew!
Kara is understanding more and more...her current words: "stinky," "DAAAAAA!" (Dad), "eeeesh" (please), "bye-bye," "hi," "poo-poo" (usually in with stinky), "Mmm!Mmm!Mmm!" (this means she wants something), "um" (yummy). She knows a coat means we are going somewhere and she gets really excited. She knows what "bath" means and what "change your pants" means. Blows my mind how they grow so fast and figure out so much. Oh yeah: she's also discovered climbing (lucky me)...we find her on top of the coffee table and the couch a lot...and she's LOVING the warmer weather. Wants outside all of the time.
Allie has discovered she can make some letters so has been taking every scrap of paper in our house and making letters. Even found the stamps the other day and proceeded to put them on an envelope! I found a "letter" in the mailbox yesterday...she has got that concept down well! Jealousy has taken root over her regarding Kara but we are working over that hurdle. And she's finding her inner fashion diva...has been dressing herself in some of the most outrageous outfits lately! Ha! Never a dull moment with Allison.
Spring promise has brought a huge pull on my part to get outside to the garden. The nerd in me has pulled out paper and started mapping out how the garden will be laid out and Eric has been given strict instructions to follow it this time! Ha! Although the nights have not let us forget that winter is not quite over, there is that "spring" in the air and I'm already shopping for plants! Woo! Hoo!
Enjoy your weekend!Comments:Add a comment:
