Kara stood by herself today!! Not for very long, but she did it....wasn't even paying attention to what she was doing. But, once she realized it, she promptly sat down (hard, but with a grin!). She's been doing it off and on since then! Somebody get a brick! She's growing too fast!
Had over 5 1/2 inches of rain yesterday...came down in buckets off and on all day. It was a beautiful sight! We can't get over, however, how quick those nasty mosquitoes took advantage of this moisture! They are mean and could carry you off if you're not careful. Anyway, now, of course, it's humid, but we don't care...this rain was much needed! Thank you, God! Lots of thanks were given in Church this morning....lots of smiles all around.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT SUSAN ESAU!!!Comments:Add a comment:

We have a first word!! (sort of) Kara knows what "bye-bye" is! She will wave her little hand and say, "dy-dyeee!" It's just too cute! She has said it to Mommy, Daddy, Grandma Bev, and Godmommy Jennifer (just today)...the floodgates have opened! She's VERY vocal now....mostly really high pitched screeches, raspberries, tongue waggles, and babbling...it won't be long before we are hearing her say another word!

Over the weekend, we went to Lawrence, KS to go to Mommy's cousin's wedding reception. It was really nice to see all of the family again and everyone was so tickled to see Great-Grandpa Neil in such good health. We also got to see Aunt Amy, Uncle Garrett, and Ema at Grandma Nancy's house...they made a suprise trip from Utah to Topeka. Garrett has to be in Salina for a month with the Army, so Amy and Ema went to Oklahoma to be with family while he was away from home. It was such a blessing to be able to see them!! Mommy prays all the time that the way and means to go visit them will come up!
On Sunday, we went to Topeka to see Gabriel (our newest nephew!) get dedicated to Christ at Victory Tabernacle. It was exciting to see such a tiny baby and wonderful to celebrate his arrival with everyone! It's hard to believe that Matthew, Allison, and Kara were all that tiny! Anyway, we enjoyed the visit!
The heat is back with a vengance and it's sweltering once again...ugh. This mommy is looking forward to a good 'ol Kansas winter! It's been so oppressive this year..difficult to keep the garden going and keep the flowers blooming. Not much rain...most of it goes around Great Bend like the plague. Oh well.Comments:Add a comment:

Gabriel Owen Munoz was born today at 8:31 p.m. at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas to Montel and Sami Munoz (Mommy/Chris's stepsister). He weighed in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces. 20 1/2 inches long. Nana Nancy says he's beautiful, looks like Montel, and is perfect!! We can't wait to see him (his baptism/dedication is this Sunday in Topeka)!! We are also anxious to see pictures of him (and hopefully add them to "Our Nephews!!" photo album)! CONGRATULATIONS MONTEL AND SAMI!!!!!!
