HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! It's a beautiful day here today (although a tad too windy). We have had a quiet day today with a little visiting and a little cleaning up around the yard. The kids and Daddy took Mommy out to lunch today at her favorite restaurant....we all got soooo stuffed! Kara is feeling a bit under the weather so we have tried not to do too much today.
We certainly hope that all is well with everyone and that you have all had a terrific Mother's Day!Comments:Add a comment:

Well we just got back from Topeka late last night. We had gone to Topeka for the State Knights of Columbus convention. Guess who won the honor of being named State Family of the Year??!! Yup, it was us and were we surprised when we found out a few weeks ago! Anyway, we were presented with a plaque/clock Saturday night (April 29) and we had to give a speech. Eric was too sick to talk much so he and Chris took turns reading the speech that we had written together. The kids were real troopers: a lot of what we did required lots of sitting for extremely long periods of time....they were amazing! It was a terribly long weekend, we are all exhausted, but we had a fun time anyway. In addition to the convention, we were able to visit all of our family in town and we enjoyed that, too.
One hiccup: we promised pictures and then with all of the excitement, the camera never made it out of it's case the entire weekend! Others did get photos, however, so we are hoping that we can get copies sent to us.
Thank you to everyone who believed that we deserved this award. It was brought to my attention that I needed to be more gracious instead of self-degrading....Eric and I discussed it, thinking that he and I probably do that because we are so afraid of getting the "big head" syndrome. So thank you to all, in whatever roles you played in helping us to receive this award (prayers, letter writing, submitting the application, etc.) We are extremely honored and excited for receiving it! God Bless!Comments:Add a comment:
