Merry Christmas, Everyone!! We hope that you all had a Blessed weekend with your loved ones. We thank those of you who sent gifts! The kids and us enjoy them and hope that you received ours as well.
We were able to see some family this year. We stayed home instead of traveling (Eric was supposed to have worked--it got switched at the last minute). Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Dennis came to visit; We spent some time with Grandma Bev and Grandpa Dan; We also went to Gorham for the afternoon on Christmas Day to see the Haselhorst side of the family at Grandma Agedia's house. We didn't get to see the Arasmiths, Williams, Myers, or North Dakota Haselhorsts, but we did get to speak with them (or at least leave messages for each other!).
We weren't without sickness during Christmas: Kara is congested and coughing, so was Allison. I (Chris) have been sick with a cold for a week that seems to have settled in my chest. Eric and Matthew seemed to have escaped it this time. We are looking forward to feeling better!
The kitchen has been set aside during the holiday weekend so we could concentrate on family. We hope to get back to it this week...
Have a great week!Comments:Add a comment:

Allison had an eventful day today! She has been bugging me to get her hair cut for a long time. Well, today she decided to do it herself...must have been tired of waiting on me. She really whacked a lot off prompting a trip to the beauty shop this afternoon to fix it. It's not completely fixed 'cause she just plain cut it too short in spots, but it looks cute short!
Note to self: hide all scissors.Comments:Add a comment:

Matthew was part of the Holy Family Christmas program this evening. He was very excited to have us there to watch his class sing. It was an excellent program and we all enjoyed it! Allison sang along with any song she knew and Kara bounced to the music!
Work is still coming along on the kitchen. We plan on blowing the texture on the walls of the kitchen, hallway and bathroom this Saturday. Will be nice to have that job done. 'Course, we still have a long way to go: cabinets, paint, countertop, flooring, fixtures....we are hoping to have it done by February! Ha! We will see!
The weather has been so extremely nice lately that it hardly seems like the Christmas season. We've only had a few days of extreme cold, but nothing major and no snow so far (too bad because we still desparately need the moisture). It's been easy to decorate for Christmas due to the warm temperatures! Ha!
We had a good Thanksgiving...Eric had to work so the kids and I went to Topeka on our own to visit. We were able to see everyone in Topeka and for the first time, it was a rather leisurely visit instead of rushed...it helps to not have a time-table. Kara was still fighting the brochitis she got over her birthday. I was coming down sick before we left but thought nothing of it. By the time we headed home on Saturday, I was very sick with a sinus infection. Luckily, meds were prescribed on Monday and after 3 weeks, I can finally say I'm on the mend. Matthew's coughing has finally subsided but his congestion is still on-going. 'Tis the season, I guess.
Have a great weekend!Comments:Add a comment:
