HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALLISON ROSE!! Wow! Four years old already! We love you, Sweetheart!

Allison had her "princess party" today...lots of her friends from school came and they had a ball! Eric and I were pretty tired after they left, but it was fun! Afterwards, we all took part in the Home for the Holidays parade. Our float representing the Prince of Peace Parish received 1st place in the church category and 1st place in the theme category (we had a living nativity). The float was lit up and it was so pretty. Allison was a donkey, Kara was an angel, and Matthew was Joseph. We had lots of kids with us and even though it was really cold...we had a great time. Everyone came over to the house afterwards and we had a chili and soup party to warm everyone up. It was a busy day, but we all had a lot of fun!

I got most of the upper cabinets primed in the kitchen this past week. Lots more to do....ugh.

    Have a great weekend!

Last Monday, Daddy surprised Mommy with 2 tickets to the KSU game against Texas in Manhattan! With so many people to choose from to go to the game with, Matthew won out because he'd never been to a big football game before. We left pretty early in the day even though kick-off wasn't until 7 p.m. Got to talk to Aunt Amy Arasmith on the way up (it was so nice to talk with her! Hope you are feeling better today, Amy!). We shopped a bit (Matthew was wanting a new hat and made an excellent purchase with his spending money). Later, we hooked up with Grandpa Dave for supper in Aggiville. Was an electric atmosphere even there! After a great supper with Grandpa, we said good-bye to him and headed for the game. Kick-off temperature was 38 degrees but our seats were low and out of the wind...we were actually taking our coats OFF at one point! All we can say about the game is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Wildcats pulled off an impressive victory against the Longhorns and we were sooooo excited we were there to see it! We left before the 4th quarter was out (Jeff Snodgrass hit his 51-yard fieldgoal about the time we unlocked the car...we didn't see it, but man, did we hear it!). As a result, we made it home before lots of other people did (we got home at 1:00 a.m. this morning....others didn't get back to GB until 3:00 a.m. due to traffic!). Over 47,000 people were there! Matthew has been chanting the KSU cheer all day today and has announced he wants to go back again! Matthew and Mommy thanked Daddy more times than we can count...it was an EXCELLENT day!! Thank you, Eric!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Side note: we DID get to see Kara's picture on the jumbotron at the 3rd quarter! It was shown as promised with dozens of other future K-Staters. However, Mommy's camera decided it was too cold or something, so we failed to get a picture of it...but we were excited nevertheless! WAY TO GO CATS!!

Had Kara's 1st birthday party today! Got to see lots of family and friends and Kara got really messy with her cake! It was a slow start as she wasn't too sure about all of the gooey frosting, but the taste got the better of her and she was soon digging in! It was really nice to see all of the family today...had some that couldn't come for obvious distance reasons, but they e-mailed or called so we felt they were here anyway. Kara got lots of nice gifts and showed off how well she is walking.

Kara had to go to the doctor on Thursday (Nov. 2) and got diagnosed with bronchitis so she's been on quite a bit of medicine, but all in all, it didn't really seem to affect how much fun she was having. Matthew saw the doctor, too, the same day. His allergies have really been acting up so we have him on quite a bit of medicine, too. We are supposed to keep an eye on him and if there is no improvement in the next couple of days, we will have to get more serious. But, he's a real trooper. Allie seems to be the only one in the house without some sort of sniffles. Although, she knows how good the meds that Matthew and Kara are taking, so she's doing her best to show me her "sick cough."

Halloween was a great time...the kids went trick-or-treating (minus Kara who's cough kept her home) and got lots of candy. It was freezing Halloween night, but we had fun anyway. Kids also got some Halloween treats and cards from far away family so they got to celebrate all the way around. Allison was a kitten again (Marie, from the Arisocats movie). Matthew was Spiderman. Kara was a bumblebee for her first Halloween. Daddy, Eric, went to work dressed as Harry Potter and got quite a few giggles from co-workers....they couldn't believe the likeness!! Ha!

The holiday season is creeping up on us...Thanksgiving will be here before we know it. But, of course, right now, our focus is for Allison's birthday coming up on the 17th! She's all ready for her party!

Hope everyone had a great weekend...we think of you all often and wish we all lived a little closer. Have a great week!
