Today was a rough day on everyone. Friends of Mommy and Daddy lost their little boy, born too early, and his funeral was today. Mommy sang in the funeral and Daddy was a Eucharistic Minister. We were not prepared for the raw emotions that came roaring back.....Justin's birth, death, and funeral became all too vivid again. Thankfully, God held Mommy's hand throughout the Mass and helped Mommy to sing without no mess ups or crying (until the very end....then we all broke down). We truly pray in our hearts for healing for little John's parents and family. We know from experience that the hurt will never go away, but that one day, they will laugh again and they will find joy again. We love you guys.

My goodness! Will the sickness ever go away?! Kara is healing, although her cough is still pretty scary for such a young baby. She sees the doctor again tomorrow afternoon. Earlier this week, Matthew came down sick with a high fever (105!)....Daddy had a 103 fever, too so they both stayed home on Tuesday. Allison started running a fever yesterday afternoon. So far, Mommy is the only one who has escaped this. It is feared that Mommy's turn is just around the corner!
Stay healthy everyone! This weird Kansas weather is wrecking havoc on colds and flu bouts, so be careful! Love to you all...Comments:Add a comment:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MATTHEW! Enjoy the monster trucks today, Buddy! Don't know who is going to have a better time: you, your friends, your daddy or your uncle! Cannot believe that you are 7 years old already. Looking back at your baby pictures brings tears to your mommy's eyes realizing how fast your have grown. Your mommy and daddy are so proud of everything you are accomplishing right now! Love you, little man!

Finally! Time to give an update! Kara went to the ER on Jan. 7 coughing and wheezing. After 4 hrs in the ER, they diagnosed her with RSV. But, she was showing no signs of distress, so they sent her home. By Mon. morning, her oxygen levels were getting dangerously low, so she was admitted to the hospital. Tues. evening, the 10th, she was sent home. She has been doing better, but she is coughing a lot and is having trouble sleeping. A nurse co-worker of mine told me it could have to do with the amount of albuterol that she is taking in during the day. Next week, we should see an improvment with her sleeping issues as we will be decreasing her dosage. Dr. said this morning that she is no longer contagious so we are able to allow other children close to her again. Still won't stop Mommy from cleaning the house from top to bottom tomorrow! Ha! We've already started washing bedding! A big thank you, once again to Grandma and Grandpa Bachman, Grandma Bev, mommy's co-worker, Gina, and to our friend, Nikki.....you guys saved our sanity and we are so glad that you were able to help us out!
Matthew is back to school in the midst of all of this and bless his heart, is hanging in there with his scatter-brained parents. He has begun studying spelling and is amazing! Mommy sat with her mouth hanging open the other day as Matthew and Daddy reviewed spelling words, and Matthew was missing very, very few.
Allison is learning the hard lesson of boundries. She is discovering how far over she can cross the line and is beginning to understand right from wrong. Mommy has been very proud of her and her manners lately: she is remembering her please's and thank you's. She is now singing her ABC's with gusto and has even suprised us with her counting skills. Our little girl is becoming a little lady and it's just too cute!
Just found out last night that little Ema and her mommy and daddy will be coming to Oklahoma in February...a nice central location....for all of us to come down for her big one year birthday party! Can't wait to see them! Ema's daddy says she's walking now and that she is drawn to other kids (little Miss Social!). It just seems like last week that she was born.....how time flies.Comments:Add a comment:
