Well, Memorial Day weekend is upon us. Remembering loved ones, barbeques, family get-togethers....we are doing all of that. Got the floral arrangements made for Grandpa Joe's and Justin's graves yesterday. Will probably take those up today or tomorrow. They look really nice, and I'm hoping that they last for awhile.
School is officially out for Matthew. He's been out for a week and we're getting the impression he'd like to go back! Mom is O.K. to hang around with, but his friends are much more fun! He is missing his friend, Dillon, as he has gone away for the summer. But, Matthew is looking forward towards Dillon's return late in the summer. Allison has figured out that warm weather means swimsuit time and insists on wearing hers all day long if it's warm enough! Don't know how Daddy is feeling about her little bikini, though! Ha!
Mommy's pregnancy is going well. Allie is starting to understand that there is a baby in there and is always touching and kissing Mommy's belly now! It should be interesting to watch her reaction when she feels the baby kicking the first time. Matthew never misses an opportunity to inform Mom how big her belly is getting (usually loudly....in public....where lots of people are around! Thanks, Son!)! Mom and Dad are busy with the yard (planting new grass) and the garden, so Mom is getting her allotted exercise and has actually lost a little weight (we aren't complaining!).
Have a terrific and safe Memorial Day weekend, everyone! Enjoy this beautiful weather and enjoy each other!Comments:Add a comment:

More good news! Had a doctor's appointment today with the OB/GYN. This visit was supposed to be our first attempt at hearing the heartbeat via doppler. As with all of our kids, this baby was to be no different and was not going to give up the sound of his/her heartbeat this early! So into the ultrasound room we went. Baby is implanted way higher than the doctor was looking (much to his suprise!) and almost mocked the doctor by seeming to wave at him! Baby moved around a lot, kicking and squirming. Everything looks terrific: good fluid amounts, hearbeat looked normal (although in our excitement, we forgot to get the heart rate!), and the baby is measuring at 13 weeks, 3 days. The size of the baby kind of threw the doctor off a bit and then he just shrugged his shoulders and said we just have a big baby. But Mommy and Daddy know different! We know when conception took place, so we know that baby is measuring exactly on schedule! Shhhhh! Anyway, we are excited and glad to report that everything is A-O.K. Woo Hoo!!!
