Kara was baptized today at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, KS. Her Godparents are cousin, Jennifer Short, and Uncle Greg Myers. It was a private ceremony officiated by Father Ted Stoeklein and was very beautiful. We missed the members of our family who were unable to make it (lots of sickness going around) but we knew that they were thinking of Kara today. Lots of friends and family did make it, however, and so our home was blessed with laughter, conversation, food, and good times with everyone. Kara was surrounded by love today (even when she screamed through most of the baptism as she was VERY hungry! :) ). We are grateful to have had this little girl enter into our lives and enter into Christ's love through baptism. We look forward to many years of teaching Kara all about Christ. God Bless you little Kara. We know that your brother and sister were smiling down from heaven at you today.
We also celebrated Allison's third birthday today (it was the 17th)! Mommy wasn't feeling very well, so our celebration was small but we are really excited to have celebrated 3 years with Allie! It's hard to believe that she is so big already!!! We love you, Allie!Comments:Add a comment:

Kara Therese Haselhorst made her debut on November 3, 2005 via cesarean section at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend, KS at 9:36 a.m. Her birth was picture perfect and she is a joy to finally have here! She has dark, thick brown hair and so far, her eyes are blue. She is such a good baby! Matthew and Allison are forever trying to help out with her but are already ready for her to start crawling, playing, giggling, and babbling! It's hard for them to understand that she can't do those things yet. But, they both kiss on her constantly and she isn't bothered at all by all of the noise in the house! Mommy is recovering, slowly but surely. It will be awhile before she can stand upright without a grimace! Kara has her first doctor appointment on Thursday as she is dealing with a very mild case of jaundice (nothing to worry about). Mommy has her first post-partum doctor visit on Friday where her incision will be checked out and staples will be removed. It seems a bit more difficult this time around to recover from this cesarean birth, but Mommy is making the best of it and hoping she will be up and around very soon.
Thank you to all who have already sent gifts, cards, and food! We are so blessed to have friends and family who care so much and are celebrating Kara's arrival just as much as we are!
God Bless all of you!Comments:Add a comment:
