Fall is here in Dodge City but the only way to tell is by the changing leaves. The days are still incredibly warm but the nights are cool enough to change the colors. Most of us are ready for winter, though...Matthew is already wanting to decorate the house for Christmas.
Matthew finished football this year...he was glad to be done as the team did not do well, but it''s hard when there is only 13 kids on the team playing 11 man football. He''s just started basketball, however. He made High Honors for the 1st 9 weeks of school (8th grade) and was pretty pumped up about that. Hard to believe he''s headed for high school next year!
Kara is enjoying 1st grade...she has top marks in everything she does. She''s also on the Dance Cats squad at school (K-2nd grade girls). She LOVES it! Of course, this is yielding her doing cheers all over the house and showing us her best cheerleader jumps as often as possible. For her birthday this year, she received the gift of pierced ears from Mommy and Daddy...she''s being very thoughtful towards her sister and waiting until Allie''s birthday to get it done so they can go together. She''s lost most of the teeth in the front so she takes great joy in sticking her tongue out through the big hole for all to see.
Allison is doing well in 4th grade. She is also on Dance Cats (3rd-4th grade girls) and had her first performance this week. While she doesn''t love it as much as Kara, her smile said otherwise during the performance! In October, Allison was diagnosed with ADHD and PDD-NOS (otherwise known as Atypical Autism). This basically means she is essentially a normal, vibrant girl, but needs some help with social issues and organization/focus. She is not on any medication as she is responding well to behavioral therapy for which we are grateful.
Eric and Chris are busy as usual...Eric''s farm toy business has him busy every extra second he gets and his brain is always swimming with ideas on how to improve production (which he shares often with all of us! Ha!). Chris has finally slowed down long enough at the college to get caught up on some projects that fell to the wayside during the summer and early fall semesters. The Boot Hill Variety Show is closed for the season but she occasionally will head down for a special show as Miss Kitty when asked.
The holidays are almost upon us...enjoy your time with your loved ones and keep everyone around you in your prayers! Hugs to all!
