We had a wonderful Halloween with the kids...Matthew dressed up as a ghost (Freaky, I think, was its name), Allison dressed up as Hermione from Harry Potter, and Kara was Strawberry Shortcake. It was a busy weekend as we were also, as 2nd grade parents, helping to set up, run, and take down for the annual SHCS Carnival. Fun was had by all but we are glad that we are finished.
Changes are occurring in the Haselhorst household. Mom lost her major income due to termination of contract with a company whom she worked for for seven years. It was a tough loss, but we are keeping things positive and Mom is actively searching for a new job. We are very grateful to friends who have stepped up to help us with daycare during this frustrating time. Hopefully, something soon will come so Mom can resume Christmas shopping! Ha!
Fall is finally upon us...the garden yielded its last peppers last week and the tomatoes were harvested a few days ago.
Kara''s birthday was November 3rd and she is having a birthday party tomorrow (Sunday)...so we will be cleaning the house today...LOL. Allie''s party will be on the 20th of November...we are still in the planning stages for that one but as always, everyone is invited!
The election is over (thank goodness) and now the wailing and nashing of teeth has commenced...Ha!Ha! We were looking forward to the end of the bickering, but it appears that it is still continuing in Dodge City. Ah, well...if you vote, you earn the right to complain so exercise it at will. Although, realize that complaining gets you nowhere...ACTIONS do.
Enjoy the upcoming holidays...we will try to keep everyone posted as much as we can on our comings and goings. Between looking for a job and working temporarily full-time someplace else, Mom is rehearsing for a Christmas show at the Depot. Dad is working feverishly on a HUGE project he is doing for next weekend. The kids are immersed in homework, dance classes, basketball, and friend time...Busyness is the norm around our household, but we are looking forward to the tranquility of visiting family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We love you all!
