Well, it''s official! They are married!! Grandpa Dan and Grandma Vicki got hitched on Friday, July 9th. The wedding was beautiful and the pictures have turned out wonderful! Well, at least the ones we''ve seen...we haven''t been able to view all of them yet, but we are excited to see the rest of them as good as the prelims were! Before the wedding, Wednesday was a day at the spa for the older girls...very much needed and was TERRIFIC!! The next two days were a whirlwind of last minute decorating, planning, ironing, and shopping...a lot goes in to a wedding when you are combining such big families! Anyway, everyone was all smiles when they were introduced as Dan and Vicki Haselhorst....what a perfect day! They''ve taken off for their honeymoon and we will all hopefully hear how it went when they get back later this week....
Matthew took off the next day for Hays to the swim meet...he did pretty good except he was disqualified for the first time during a race (backstroke)...made an unauthorized stroke and the lady caught him. Ah, live and learn. Some family came over to the pool and watched him race...he was pretty tickled about that!
Sunday had the boys (Daddy and Matthew) taking off for Colorado for a week long Boy Scout camp. I''ve since learned that Matthew has run into an old friend of his from Ness City...bet that was a wonderful surprise for him! Sounds like they are having fun...the girls and I are staying pretty close to the house. It''s terribly hot and humid and really no fun outside so we''ve been busying ourselves with errands, housework, movies, and girl time.
Sunday night I auditioned for an upcoming musical at the Depot. My audition was abysmal and embarrassing. Needless to say, I didn''t get it. However, I''ve since learned of some "political" and "personal" rumors swirling about the casting and the show...I''ve decided it was a good thing to be far away from all of that. I don''t need to be around that stuff...rumor or not. You can get labeled so easily that way and I choose to remain with the aura of being naive. People can be so hateful and I, for one, don''t have that much energy to be that way. Besides, this gives me more time to concentrate on family and my work...God always provides us with blessings no matter how unnoticeable or seemingly inconsequential.
Well, it''s off to get my day started. Enjoy your week everyone!!
