Well, while I have Internet access, I thought I''d update everyone on our lives...Internet has been sporadic and is causing problems, both professionally and socially....Goodness! What did we ever do without it?!? LOL! Anyway, a new Internet provider will be installing a new system for us tomorrow...CAN''T WAIT! It''s been frustrating trying to work in the last month with the connection the way it''s been. I''m looking forward to getting back to normal.
We are gearing up for the final week and a half before Dan''s wedding (Eric''s dad). I''ve been helping with the planning of the music, have ordered the granddaughter dresses, and am now frantically looking for shoes for the girls (the slow Internet is making this really difficult). Will need to find new shoes for Matthew, too, although that won''t be as hard. We are all very excited for next week and cannot believe that it''s almost here! What a whirlwind two years we''ve all been through (both Vicki''s family and ours)! God has smiled on Dan and Vicki and has guided them down the right path. We wish them nothing but blessings and love for the years to come! =)
Matthew has announced that swim team is becoming more of a chore than a fun activity. The daily practices are beginning to wear on him. We knew it would get to this point, but we are still sticking to it. Despite his grumblings, he''s improving each meet...his backstroke seems to be staying the same, but his freestyle has exploded. He swam the 200M freestyle this past Saturday and came in 2nd in his heat...he was so excited! That was above and beyond what we expected (we were just relieved that he finished! That''s a long race!).
Allison is still going strong with gymnastics. Library has taken up a lot of her time...she''s determined to get the Summer Reading trophy back for Sacred Heart School!
Kara has really come along this summer, both with vocabulary, writing, and her interest in books. She''s enjoying having her siblings home during the day and she''s announced that she, too, would like to participate in gymnastics. Oh my....
I''m very busy with weddings, volunteering at church, work, and shuttling kids back and forth to their various activities. It''s becoming hard to schedule things this summer...just seems like there just aren''t enough hours in the day.
Eric is gearing up for a golf tournament fund raiser in September. He''s also been busy getting back in to parishes and discussing planned giving and wills. He''s in his element when he''s in front of people giving his lessons...he just can''t sit in his office too long! =)
Fourth of July is coming up and the kids are already begging to see what fireworks stands are open so I guess I know where I''ll be in the next couple of days. Eric and I have been continuing a steady work out plan that has included some walks so maybe we can find some fireworks stands that way! Hey, better than burning gas in the car, right?
Have a wonderful Independence Day holiday and remember the we are a country of freedom. Blessings!
Matthew''s swim meet results: 2 relays: 2nd place, 50 yard backstroke, 3rd place; 100 yard freestyle, 5th place; 50 yard freestyle, 6th place. Was only .2 sec off of division qualifying for backstroke! The kid is a bullet in the water...he''s gonna work on flip turns this week...can''t wait for next Saturday!! I''m one proud mama! =)
