Well, we just got back last night from Colorado Springs, CO. We were visiting Mom''s brother Garrett and his wife Amy. We all had a great time...saw the Garden of the Gods, went to a place where it''s Christmas all of the time, ate supper in a big airplane, and hiked up some trails and saw a really pretty waterfall. The weather wes gorgeous the entire time and we were sad to leave. We are looking forward to the next time we get to go to Colorado Springs. A family vacation may have to be planned because we didn''t get to see nearly enough due to our short stay. Garrett and Amy were terrific hosts and we sure hated to leave to go hom so soon. Dad and Matthew got to see some of wheat harvest going on the way home. Dad took lots of pictures to show everyone! Not much wheat looked good....not enough rain. Eastern Colorado was pretty barren; Western Kansas looked OK, but it was still pretty dry. Everyone is hoping for an end to the drought....or for the big, white combine to roll through (that''s hail for you non-farmers!)! Ha! After today, we miss the 75 degree weather in Colorado....it was 100 degrees here at home. Ick. Good swimming weather....if the thunderstorms stay at bay, that is.
