Time flies, huh? A ton has happened since last updating everyone on our comings and going...
Thanksgiving was spent with Eric''s family...we headed to Gorham to spend time with Grandma Agedia and that clan. Came home and had Thanksgiving in Bucklin with Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Dennis. Christmas got a little crazy and spread out over a couple of weeks...one weekend in Great Bend (Haselhorsts), one weekend in Topeka (Arasmiths).
In January, I spent most of my free time helping out Grandma Nancy as she and Dennis readied to move back to Topeka at the end of January. We understand why they had to move back home, but we miss them. February has brought major change in our household: I found a job! After months of searching I began my new job at Dodge City Community College as the executive assistant to the dean of students. Everyone I work with is so friendly and wonderful to be around. The pay isn''t what I''d hoped, but a raise is in my near future and the benefits are wonderful. Hopefully, I will be up for a promotion really soon as well. Lots of opportunity for advancement. Looking forward to that!
Allison joined the swim team this winter. She is struggling with the strokes and we are simply working on getting her across the pool. But she''s having a BLAST and loves going to practice! Dance team is going well, too...although she doesn''t think she''s very good, her last performance was outstanding! She''s excelling at school by leaps and bounds...her teacher is challenging her with 3rd grade math and she''s breezing through that as well! Her homework is usually finished within a few minutes...
Kara is LOVING dance class! She practices at home, doing cute little ballet moves! Her reading has taken off like a shot and she''s impressing all of us. At first I thought she had just memorized her favorite books, but put the kabash on that idea after she looked over my shoulder and read my shopping list to me!
Matthew''s basketball team (C team) only won one game this year. He''s stoked about that because the A & B teams didn''t win any! He had a great time and has now moved on to swim team. He''s also decided he''s signing up for track, hoping that the 6th grade gets to participate. His asthma is finally getting under better control. We saw Dr. Riva last week and she was unhappy with his numbers on his PFT tests, so changed his medication. Within 24 hours there was a difference and his numbers are in the normal range where they should be. We have to go back to see her in 2 months...hopefully this will continue to be good news.
We installed a new bishop on February 2nd...I sang, Eric worked with the chansory staff...it was a very busy time in our house. All around the time I took the new job...whew! The new bishop, Bishop John Brungardt, is very nice, engaging, and a BUSY man! Eric says he''s traveling constantly all over the diocese. What a change! LOVE IT!
Well, time to rush off to work. Enjoy your day!
